TurbaFib is an Aralur S.L. product made up of a mixture of peat and Fibralur which is the result of an I&R&D project sponsored by the Regional Government of Navarra, the CDTI and the Public University of Navarra. Since 1999, this product has been applied to the intensive cultivation of mushrooms as an integral part of the topsoil.
Several comparative studies have been carried out with other topsoils by the Public University of Navarra and the Experimental Centre of Mushrooms in La Rioja which conclude that Turbafib:
Has a high humidity retention capacity (up to eight times its weight).
Provides a fibrous structure, favouring the exchange of gasses (CO2).
Is a sterilised product which contributes to the health of the crop.
Favours the mushroom harvest, increasing its performance by up to 20%, and does not stain the mushroom.
The results obtained have led Turbafib to become the product which is most used in the mushroom sector today with a high success rate.
